About Me

Hey!!

My name is Devon (and I’m a woman, just incase that is not clear from the name (or the picture)) and I’m the first of my family to be venturing out into the world of academia and science. I’m also relatively new to the blogging world so please bare with me.

I am currently an MRes Student interested in all things genetic, specifically epigenetics. I will be finishing up my Masters degree in August and swiftly moving on to a PhD studying the epigenetic regulation of autosomal dominant polycystic kidney disease, bit of a mouthful I know! If you would like to know more about my research please check out my personal research page.

I hope to use this blog to share my research as well as providing a more accessible way to understand recent scientific publications, as we all know how difficult they can be to understand sometimes! I am very interested and engaged within SciComm, as you will soon find out! I am also the co-founder of a BioSci PhD forum on Twitter, developed for PhD students to share their research, worries and advice. If you like, you can check it out at @Biosci_PhD.

If you’re interested, feel free to carry on reading and I thank you in advance!

Devon 🙂
